Weider Pro 6900 Weight System Review

We don’t know about you, but personally, we grew tired of having to drive all the way to the gym (we live 10 miles from the nearest gym) only to find all of the exercise equipment we would like to use was being used. Standing in a line after that drive was not suitable for us – we barely had time as it was to exercise after work, let alone time to sit there and wait for the equipment we needed. You see, we were going to the gym, because we were left with the impression that buying home gym equipment was out of our budget – we automatically assumed that it was impossible to create our own at home gym, because of the price it would cost and like many, we just didn’t have that much money to spend. Then, we started to do some research and that is when we discovered all of this different equipment …equipment that didn’t cost thousands of dollars …instead, it cost a couple hundred or so, and regardless, it was within our budget.

For a decent home gym, you could get machines like the Proform 995i, Proform 505 cst treadmill, Profot zt6 treadmill or even the Scwhinn 170 upright bike. Once we got the best treadmill, a Proform elliptical, rowing machine and a max trainer, we decided that it was time to get something we could use in order to work our strength (we all want to be strong and let’s face it, simply eating a can of spinach doesn’t work for us humans). That is when we sat down to do some research. During our research, we found many amazing (and some not so amazing) strength trainers. In fact, finding the best strength trainer was complicated, because there was so many. However, we managed to weed out the good from the bad (this took us a couple of days, no biggie), and that is when we pulled up the Weider Pro 6900 weight system. Mind you, if you’re not familiar with this system, you need to familiarize yourself with it today because it really is one of the best weight training systems currently on the market.

Sure, we could always tell you to go out and buy this weight training system right away, but chances are, you’re not going to listen to just that – you need proof and we have proof. Today, we are going to introduce you to the Weider Pro 6900 weight system so that you can determine whether or not it is the best suitable option for you.

Benefits of Weight Training with the Weider Pro 6900 Weight System

Starting out, we would like to tell you about the benefits of weight training – this way, you will be able to see why we were so caught up on getting the Weider Pro 6900 weight system, even though we already had a treadmill and elliptical machine in our home gym.

First of all strength training increases your physical work capacity and improves your ability to perform activities of daily living. It will help to give you the ability to work harder and longer.

Bone density is improved and this is the best way to control bone loss as you age.

It promotes fat-free body mass with decreasing sarcopenia. Lean muscle mass can decrease with age and strength training helps bring it back.

It helps to increase the strength of connective tissue, muscles and tendons. It will lead to improved motor performance, decreasing injury risk.

The best is that it improves the quality of life.

Weider Pro 6900 Weight System

The Weider Pro 6900 Weight System is a compact home gym, letting you perform a variety of exercises including a lat pull-down, chest press, chest fly, preacher curl, row and many more. It also comes with both a high and a low pulley for additional exercises. It only takes up a small amount of space. When it comes to learning how to use the Weider Pro 6900 weight system, it’s not that hard at all. In fact, you’ll probably be able to figure out how to use it simply by looking at pictures of it.

This system is meant to be an all-in-one home gym. It takes up an area measuring 43 inches by 77 inches and it 82.5 inches high. It is very compact when compared to other home gyms. It has a silver metal construction and bright red vinyl padding. There are many different exercise options and setup is suitable for beginners as well as experienced weightlifters. The machine offers up to 330 pounds of resistance and the weight stack goes up to 125 pounds. It is very versatile and you can perform 35 exercises.

A Large Amount of Exercise Opportunities

By looking at this picture, can you imagine all of the different opportunities you have?

It contains a variety of exercise opportunities that let users get a full-body workout. It includes a lat pull down attachment, as well as high and low cables for cable curls, tricep pull downs and more. It also comes with a chest fly setup that can also be used as a chest press or rear delt fly and it also includes an adjustable preacher curl bench. For the lower body there is a leg developer that lets you do crunches, leg extensions and leg curls.

Doesn’t Require Much Maintenance

This product doesn’t really require a lot of maintenance. We don’t know about you, but personally, we like hearing this – since it doesn’t require much maintenance, this means we can put more time into exercising and building the shape of our body how we want it.

However since it is a system with cables and a weight stack the cables should be inspected from time to time. Keep in mind that gradual wear and tear can easily accumulate and if a cable breaks, it can cause injury. It is also important to wipe down the vinyl padding after every use since sweat buildup can cause damage and cracking of the vinyl over time.

The manufacturer offers a full 90-day warranty on the product and the warranty can be extended by contacting the manufacturer directly.

Different Attachments

This product comes with a variety of attachments for cables but to expand the variety of exercises you can purchase additional accessories. For more variety with lat pull downs, a V-bar or straight bar can be purchased. For the high and low cables you can purchase a tricep rope for tricep pull downs and neutral-grip cable curls as well as a standard handle attachment for lean-away lateral raises and other exercises.

Perfect for Circuit Training

If you’re into circuit training, then you’re in luck, because the Pro 6900 is great for circuit training. To do a full-body circuit, pick an upper-body exercise like a lat pull down and perform the desired number of sets. Then switch to lower-body exercise like a leg extension. The move on to another upper-body exercise and alternatively you can focus on one muscle group per work out.

  • It is a very compact exercise station and ideal for small spaces.
  • It offers many stations that can be used for multiple exercises. The leg developer allows for multiple exercises as well as the chest/fly press portion.
  • It comes with six stations but the manufacturer for this product says you can do 55 different exercises on it.
  • It comes with accessory options which can be easily attaches, expanding exercise opportunities.

  • This system is a bit on the expensive side.
  • There is a small weight stack making it hard for some to get a challenging work out.
  • There is some versatility to the cables but they should have been more moveable.

There are conflicting views from users. Some say that the system is of good value and others say they have issues with the assembly and durability. Some say there were problems with assembly because some of the bolts that needed to be tightened were under the weight stack and the weight adjustment pin is on the inside of the machine.

The other issue is durability. Some say that the chest fly/chest press arms tend to break easily even though they’ve used the machine for a short time.

In the end, if you’re sick and tired of traveling to the gym and are looking to build your own home gym, then the Weider Pro 6900 Weight System is definitely something you’re not going to want to overlook. If you think about it, this system has everything you need in order to build your strength and we can’t think of any reason not to get it.

Now, we’re going to leave you with some more pictures for you to look at …
