About the Proform Endurance 720 E
The Proform Endurance 720 E is a useful front-drive elliptical machine that has a large amount of benefits nesting behind it. During promotions, you can find this machine for under $799. This machine is the middle of three ellipticals that are in the Proform Endurance Series and it is definitely a step up from the traditional entry-level model if you look at it in terms of value and power.
If you were to compare the Proform Endurance 720 E with the 520 E, you’ll find that it has been enhanced with an electronic incline, heavier drive and you can even double the parts warranty.
There’s no HD display technology, but it’s a more cost-conscious alternative. If you have a tablet, you can easily connect the tablet as a secondary display, which works for us. On your tablet, you can add all of your useful entertainment apps and social media to use during your workout routine. If you are familiar with iFit Coach and have a membership, you could add this to your tablet. With iFit Coach, you will have access to an unlimited amount of interactive workouts.
When it comes to iFit Coach, many enjoy training with the landscape scenes that are on the app – these scenes come to you from around the world. The 720 E will auto-adjust its slope depending on the route you choose – this way, you will have the opportunity to virtually experience the topography of the route you chose. The machine is capable of adjusting its slope up to 20 degrees.
In addition to all of the above, the Proform Endurance 720 E has a total of 24 standard workouts that are built into the console. With these workouts, you will be able to adjust the machine’s incline and resistance in order to help you reach your goals for speed, calorie burn and of course, workout intensity.

This machine is fully capable of training the entire body from top to bottom. The cushioned pedals are something else we feel the need to mention – this makes for a comfortable ride and we cannot forget about the water bottle holder and the workout fan. With the water bottle holder, you don’t even have to stop when you need a drink of water and the workout fan, well we all know what that comes in handy for …keeping us cool during our workout. It’s really hard to believe that you can get all of these cool features packed in one machine for under $799.
When it comes to the Proform Endurance 720 E, there are many different aspects that we enjoy about it. In this section of the review, we’re going to go over our personal favorites …
Stride – The 19 inch elliptical path is useful for supporting a normal stride. This can be varied with incline. When you change the incline, you’ll be working out different muscles.
Flywheel – The 20-pound flywheel makes for smoother striding. If you compare this flywheel with other machines in this class, you’ll see that this one is better.
Power Incline – With the power incline, you will be able to double that calorie burn. It even gives you the opportunity to target-tone those muscles and it works with any iFit Coach Google Maps route, so you have a lot to look forward to.
Pedals – The pedals are oversized, cushioned and adjustable. All of this adds comfort during your workout.
Enabled for iFit Coach – Since it is enabled for iFit Coach, you will have access to a large array of downloads of personal training routines, wireless data logging, HD video workout and much more. A membership is required to iFit Coach, but it is well worth it.
Moving Handlebars – The moving handlebars may not sound like much, but a little goes a long way. The moving handlebars make for a toned upper body.
Workout Apps – There’s a total of 24 workout apps, which is more than some of the other machines currently on the market have. These workout apps are useful for helping you target intensity, calorie and speed goals.
iPod-Compatible – We cannot leave out the iPod-compatible speakers. With these built-in speakers, if you don’t want to wear headphones, you don’t have to. This way, you can listen to all of your favorite tunes. Many people choose to listen to music while working out, because music has a tendency to keep them motivated and get them up and moving.
Adjustable Tablet Holder – We all know how useful an adjustable tablet holder can be. With this option, you will be able to place your tablet at just the right angle for viewing your favorite apps.
CoolAire Workout Fan – The workout fan is something we always look for when we’re looking for a piece of exercise equipment like this. We’re not sure what it is, but the workout fan is pretty cool. Sure, you could always set up your own workout fan in front of you, but there’s just something about having one built in.
Water Bottle Holder – A workout fan and a water bottle holder goes hand in hand. We don’t know about you, but personally, when we’re working out, we don’t like to have to stop what we’re doing in order to go to a table and grab a bottle of water …but we don’t feel like being thirsty either. Since the Proform Endurance 720 E has a built-in water bottle holder, so you don’t have to go thirsty or stop your workout.
Transport Wheels – When we’re done with our machines, we like to fold them up and push them out of the way. For this reason, we love hearing when the machine has transport wheels on it.
Weight Limit – The 325-pound weight limit is nice. This way, even the heavier set person will be able to use this machine in order to get fit.
What we Don’t Like about the Proform Endurance 720 E
While there are a lot of aspects we like about the Proform Endurance 720, on the same note, there are a couple of downsides that we feel we should mention in this review.
Customer Service – If for some reason you need a replacement part for the machine, you may find that the customer service from the manufacturer is a little bit on the down side. However, this doesn’t mean they’re not working. Many times, with popular companies like this, they are busy dealing with a lot of customers.
No Integrated Full-Color Display – If you want motivating programming, you’re forced to use your tablet. For some though, this isn’t that big of a deal, because they plan on using their tablet while on the machine anyways.
The Design of the Front-Drive – While analyzing this machine, we noticed something about the front-drive design. With the design, you may be encouraged to lean into the machine. We’re not sure if you’re familiar with what this can do, but leaning into the machine could cut down on the calorie burn rate.
All in all, the Endurance 720 is a really good buy as there are a good amount of features that will be sure to keep you motivated during your workout. Sure, it may not have that smoothness of a gym-quality trainer, but in terms of ergonomics, it’s cheaper than many of the other ellipticals on the market. With features this good, especially for a nice price like this, we believe it is a good buy – everyone in your family will be able to use it.
